Is it really free?
Yes. SOLAR 1.0 gives you free answers every day, and the offline models are free forever. You only pay if you want SOLAR 2.0, the smarter model.
How does credit work?
You add $5 to $500 at a time. Each SOLAR 2.0 answer costs a fraction of a cent and shows its price. There's no subscription and credit never expires.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. In Settings, download an offline model (3 GB or 6 GB). It runs on your PC and nothing leaves it.
Where are my chats saved?
In the desktop app, on your computer. In the browser, in your browser's storage. We don't keep your conversations.
Can I use one account on the app and the website?
Yes. Sign in with the same Google or email account and your credit and usage are shared.
Download
Install it, sign in, press the snip key.
1. Run the installer
Open SOLAR-Setup.exe and press Install. It downloads the app (about 120 MB) and adds a desktop shortcut.
2. If Windows warns you
New apps without a paid certificate get a blue "Windows protected your PC" box. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
3. Sign in and snip
Sign in with Google or email in Settings, then press Alt+Q and drag a box around anything.
